With the Mani carpet, Fornasetti explores once again his visual universe made of symbols, repetitions and graphic games. Hands, a recurring motif in the work of the Atelier, appear in a refined and almost abstract form, stripped of all context to become true graphic elements. Presented in a rhythmic and colorful composition, they create a visual dialogue that is both minimalist and expressive, revealing all the theatrical and dreamlike dimension specific to the universe of Fornasetti. Another version of the carpet also exists, offering a different interpretation of this iconic pattern. Entirely handcrafted in India, the Mani rug is made of wool using the jacquard technique. This know-how makes it possible to weave patterns directly into the material in order to obtain a surface rich in relief, depth and texture while maintaining the graphic simplicity of the drawing. Thanks to this precise and refined textile creation, CC-Tapis gives life to a decorative piece where contemporary craftsmanship and iconic visual language meet with subtlety.
