The CH24 Soft is a lightweight, sculptural chair that can be used as both a dining chair and a lounge chair for relaxing. The chaise CH24 is the most famous and best-selling chair by Danish designer Hans J.Wegner. Designed in 1949 by Hans J. Wegner for Carl Hansen, this chair is a masterpiece of craftsmanship. A sign of its success, Carl Hansen has been producing the CH24 Soft chair for over half a century without interruption. The backrest bar is steam bended for optimum freedom of movement and comfort. When creating it, Wegner chose to merge the backrest and armrest into a single piece. To stabilise the steam-curved top and provide comfortable support for the back, the designer developed the chair’s characteristic Y-shaped support.
