For And Tradition, designer Sami Kallio has designed In Between, a chair whose central point is the interplay between positive and negative space. The backrest and sides provide a stable shape and good support, but shapes are also created by the empty spaces. The slightly sloping back and seat are balanced by the dynamically shaped legs, making the small In Between armchair a contemporary design classic that will fit in with any interior. This small armchair is a manifesto of the designer’s know-how and of woodworking craftsmanship. Producing the chair requires modern industrial processes and manual interventions, creating a harmony between innovation and tradition. The leather or fabric seat adds a touch of comfort and elegance.
