Designers Philippe Starck and Eugeni Quitllet pay tribute to three icons of contemporary design and bring to life a fusion of styles to achieve a « stylistic synthesis ». Indeed, the interweaving of sinuous, dynamic lines on the back of the Masters Chair, evokes the silhouettes of three contemporary design classics: Arne Jacobsen’s Series 7, Eero Saarinen’s Tulip Armchair and Charles Eames’ Eiffel Chair. Created in 2009, the Masters chair by Kartell has already achieved design icon status. These chairs intertwine to create an original and captivating fusion of styles. Supported by four slender rods, the seat of the petit fauteuil Masters is ample and comfortable. The distinctive feature of the Masters chair lies essentially in its backrest, characterised by the solids and voids created by the curvilinear intersection of the three different backrests that merge into the seat.
