Description
For its new collection, Hay invited French designers Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec to create a new range of furniture for the University of Copenhagen. The collection includes a chair, a bar stool and various tables. The designers were inspired by the simple identity of a university chair designed by the architect Bernt Pedersen. The designers of the Copenhagen collection sought to emulate the simplicity that characterises this trestle-legged chair while at the same time creating a range of school furniture that is in keeping with the times and can adapt to the functional needs of a university. The collection diverges somewhat from the institutional spirit of Pedersen’s chair in its originality and its shapes.
