Originally designed in 1996 by Marcel Wanders, Knotted Chair is an armchair made from knotted rope. This creation is impressive by its design: a simple flexible rope becomes a functional object in three dimensions. The carbon fibre and aramid braided cord is stiffened by an epoxy resin. Visually light and with an airy design, Knotted Chair is nevertheless robust and stable. This designer armchair produced by Cappellini is a perfect synthesis between industrial technology and craftsmanship.
