When designing Plico for the Carl Hansen brand, Danish design duo Preben Fabricius and Jørgen Kastholm sought to create an armchair that took up as little space as possible when not in use, without compromising on comfort. Seeking to highlight what other designers often seek to hide, they have created a deceptively simple design with visible joints, beautiful brass fittings and accomplished craftsmanship. The Plico solid oak frame and curved back legs are designed for optimum stability. The backrest and seat, complete with cushions, are upholstered in linen, offering an elegant expression and the ultimate in seating comfort. The adjustable backrest folds away completely and the saddle leather armrests complete the design, giving it a distinctive expression full of character.
