Designed by iconic American designer George Nelson in 1947, and first produced in 1952, the Bubble lamp was a revolution in the modern lamp industry. Available in different sizes and organic shapes, this elegant collection is inspired by a set of Swedish silk lights that Nelson wanted for his office but found too expensive. Employing the ingenuity that so characterises his work, he decided to use a spray plastic, developed by the US military, and apply it to a lightweight steel structure to produce these luminous sculptures. Iconic and timeless, this suspension lamp reissued by Hay will find its place in all interior styles, on its own or in a composition of different shapes and sizes.
