Arne Jacobsen designed the Swan and Egg armchairs for the lobby and reception of the Royal Hotel in Copenhagen. This project allowed Jacobsen to conceive a global project, integrating architecture and furniture design. In 1958, the Swan chair was a technological feat produced by Fritz Hansen, created using curves alone and no straight lines. The shell is moulded in synthetic material and padded with polyurethane foam; the base is made of polished aluminium. It is available in leather or fabric. Swan is ideal for public areas as well as for household living areas, it can be placed near to the fireplace on winter evenings, or even in your bedroom.
