Alvar Aalto is one of the most important figures in design and architecture of the 20th century. He created his own style inspired by man and nature. Aalto believed that good design should be a part of everyday life and created versatile, sensitive products to improve daily life. He never indicated how his glass objects were to be used, wanting users to decide their purpose for themselves. The undulating, fluid and organic shapes of the objects in the Aalto vase collection recall the thousands of lakes that punctuate the Finnish landscape. The glassblowers at manufacturer Iittala still handcraft these legendary vases of serene beauty. The Aalto vase is available in several heights and comes in a range of colours. Since its presentation in 1937 at the Exposition Universelle in Paris, the Aalto collection has become a true masterpiece.
