For Normann Copenhagen, Danish designer Simon Legald designed Amp, a range of refined lamps. The idea for the shape of these lamps came to the designer one day when he was restoring an old radio from the 1960s. The simple oval shape of the tubes and the light they emit make an overt reference to it, as does the name Amp, which is an abbreviation of the English term « tube amplifier ». The designer wanted to visually highlight essential details, such as the way the lampshade rests on the base. These lamps from Normann Copenhagen have a matching textile cable and the table lamp has a dimmer.
