More than a simple lamp, the Dipping Light invites the viewer to experience light in a poetic and expressive way. Designed by Jordi Canudas for Marset, the Dipping Light plays with colour and illumination to create a distinctive and atmospheric presence in any interior. When switched on, its layered coats of paint filter the light and produce a gentle glow that enriches the surrounding environment. When switched off, the Dipping Light reveals itself as a coloured glass sphere with strong sculptural qualities, almost like a small piece of art. The lamp originates from an inventive experiment carried out by Jordi Canudas. By repeatedly dipping a lit bulb into paint, he examined how the material behaved and how the light evolved through each layer. This process led to a lamp defined by concentric rings of colour that capture and soften the brightness, creating subtle chromatic transitions. Because each layer is applied by hand, every Dipping Light is genuinely unique. No two pieces are exactly alike. A precisely crafted brass base supports the blown-glass sphere and adds a warm, refined touch to the composition. Compact and visually expressive, the Dipping Light fits naturally on a side table, a desk or a bedside cabinet. It introduces a captivating presence and a play of shades that elevate any space. Through this piece, Marset demonstrates its expertise by turning a simple lighting object into an elegant, characterful element of everyday life.
