Description
Mangas, from the Spanish word for ‘sleeves’, is a collection of rugs designed by Patricia Urquiola for the Spanish textile company Gandia Blasco. The rugs come in a variety of shapes and colours and look like hand-knitted items of clothing, laid flat. In 2011, the collection was expanded to include pouffes that feature motifs used on rugs created by the designer. Patricia Urquiola drew inspiration from patchwork patterns by combining several techniques, creating the idea of different knits assembled together. The balloon, bell and small lantern shapes of the rugs – and now the pouffes, too – are stretched to the dimensions of a rectangle. The Mangas collection has won numerous international design awards since its launch in 2009. These pouffes invite you to stretch out on them, and create a cosy atmosphere in the room. Quite simply the perfect place to unwind.
