Designed by Arne Jacobsen, the Grand Prix chair was presented by Fritz Hansen at the Spring Designers Exhibition at the Museum of Art and Design in Copenhagen in 1957. Later in the year, this chair was awarded the Grand Prix at the Milan Triennial. The Grand Prix is produced with a tubular steel base like the 7 Series or with a wooden base, as it was originally presented. This timeless piece works in any style of interior and the different finishes available marry well together to create harmonious configurations around the table.
