Description
An inimitable lamp with a strong character, Pipistrello designed by Gae Aulenti in 1965 for the Olivetti showroom in Paris, is currently published by the Martinelli Luce lighting house. Minipipistrello Pop features the same variations as the original lamp: large, medium and mini, with the latter version also available cordless. Now available in a new yellow colour, signed and numbered. The new yellow colour of Minipistrello Pop evokes light, optimism and energy. According to Emiliana Martinelli, « Colour is one of the hallmarks of Pop art, whose protagonist is the everyday object that becomes art, and the iconic Pipistrello is tinted a bright, full, graphic yellow that recalls this artistic movement ». The cone of Minipistrello Pop is highlighted by a central ring, the base and the diffuser attachment knob, painted gloss black to give the luminaire its graphic appearance. The dimmable LED light source is integrated and the electronic ballast is plug-in.The original Minipistrello Pop became iconic for its ability to combine originality and innovation. The choice of a bright yellow perpetuates this spirit by going beyond aesthetics to become a symbol of vitality, energy and creative drive.
