With Pietra, the GamFratesi duo continue their material exploration of travertine with the Epic and Doric tables for Gubi. Pietra side tables celebrate the fascinating patterns in the surface of stone. Available in two sizes and two colours, each Pietra table is handmade from six pieces. The result is a piece that appears to have been carved from a single block of stone. A raised rim around the slightly curved edge of the tabletop creates a useful surface similar to a tray, ideal for displaying objects or setting a glass down safely. Carefully cut, fitted and finished, the curved edges and corners of the Pietra table show an extraordinary level of craftsmanship and give the stone an impression of softness.
